Vivienne Ying

A Life Well Lived...

Vivienne Adel Ying, 79, passed away on April 1, 2023, after sudden illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Vivienne was born on April 18, 1943, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Alfred and Esther (Chen) Chin.

She was active at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Group, and the Legion of Mary, praying the rosary with her church sisters. In Jamaica, she and her husband operated a supermarket. She left Jamaican in 1979 with her husband and 2 children to build a new life. She went back to school and then worked as a medical lab technician for 29 years at Hollywood Medical Center. After retirement, she devoted her time to family and the church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Delroy Ying; her two sons, Joel Ying and Delroy "Frubie" Ying; her siblings, Sonia Chin (Murray), Donneth Chin, Ahron “Lennie” Chin, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, “Charlie” Chin.

Loved by many, she will be missed.
